From an afternoon of playing with seaglass, sunlight and shadows Sunlight is my favorite collaborator. When I first began to experiment with seaglass photography, I was enchanted by how light, glass and color work together create an ephemeral image unique to a moment. Shadows change with imperceptible shifts of the sun. Colors reflect, throw prisms, dance and fade with the afternoon light. Subtle marks and textures are sculptural at one point in the day, invisible at others.

My weekend morning walks often end at a neighborhood beach where I source most of the seaglas I use in my artwork. My mind and mood shift when I step on the sand. My focus and vision sharpen. I become fully present in a way that most reliably happens here. I live in Connecticut, where the beaches are rocky and what seaglass remains is not easy to find. I'll typically stop for a few breaths, take in the view, scan the horizon, familiar as it is, for new things to notice. Some
